Get Involved

Become a Partner

Membership with the York ASD Partnership is an opportunity to have your voice heard in order to advocate for members of the ASD community.

The purpose of the York ASD Partnership is:

“Working together for system integration to enhance the system of supports for people with ASD and their families.”

Membership in the York ASD Partnership is based on the following principles:

  • Balanced representation – Family, self-advocates and service provider representatives across age groups and all levels of the Autism Spectrum
  • Building on existing strengths and assets

Commitments:

  • All partners agree to participate in the collective implementation of our shared Strategic Plan.
  • Financial Contributions: It is expected that each York ASD Partnership member organization will negotiate an agreeable financial contribution as a membership fee toward the operating budget required to ensure the ongoing success of the York ASD Partnership initiative.

Please review these documents for additional information on how you can become a partner.

Join Our Team

There are many opportunities for organizations and individuals to get involved in the important work we do within the York ASD Partnership throughout the year. We actively encourage agencies, members of the research and clinical communities, parents, and self-advocates to participate on any number of our committees or task groups in order to make supports and services more accessible for caregivers and individuals on the spectrum.

As a volunteer member of the York ASD Partnership, you will be asked to participate in monthly meetings with all partnered agencies, researchers, clinicians, parents, and self-advocates. These meetings happen either in-person or online via a remote platform. If you choose to dedicate more time or want to lend your voice to a strategic plan initiative or project, these groups will meet separately. These project or task group meetings may vary in their frequency and duration depending on the assignment.
To join the York ASD Partnership or to inquire about a specific initiative, please take a look at our teams page to review current initiatives and projects. For more information, please contact Neil Walker.
